Christmas has come and gone!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, filled with the joy of being surrounded by loved ones and creating lasting memories. Whether you spent the holiday with family, friends, or cherished traditions, we trust it was a time to relax, laugh, and share meaningful moments. We hope your celebrations were full of delicious food, from hearty feasts to sweet treats, and that you had the chance to unwind with some of your favorite holiday films.

Even though Christmas has passed us, many folk will still have their lights up until the new year. I have compiled a list of some of the best in town and have it mapped so you can click on houses close to you to check them out!

Valentine’s Day Banners

Tutoring with Chirldren’s Literacy Center - Otero Elementary

Description: The Children's Literacy Center is looking to hire part-time reading tutor volunteers! The volunteer tutor position will be trained in the Peak Reader curriculum and perform 1:1 tutoring tasks with an assigned student.

Candidates must posses the ability to work in a setting with children, under the direction of a Site Coordinator.

Rescue Run

Description: Jan 1, 1979, the Rescue Run Start/Finish was at Norris-Penrose Events Center.  In 1995, we moved the Rescue Run to Palmer Park.  In 2021, due to the Covid Pandemic we held a Virtual Rescue Run.  For the 2022 event, we took the course back to its roots at Norris-Penrose. But rather than run on the streets as we did in the 80's and 90's, we run on the trails of Bear Creek Park East.

Chilly Willy 5k/10k/Half Marathon:

Description: It's winter time & it's cold, but don't hibernate!  Keep moving because it's a great time to go for a run whether you join us live or run virtual!

We're racing the trails Cottonwood Creek Park.  All the races start at 8:30 am, with   Finisher Medals for everyone! Only 200 finisher medals will be ordered so sign up or add yours on early!

All participants will receive their very own Chilly Willy long sleeve race shirt and Finisher Medal!  We'll have have chip timing with awards for the Overalls, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Masters, and the five year age groups.
