2024 in Colorado Springs was the second warmest year on record!

The first week of January has delivered several chances of snow and a significant drop in temperatures across the area. Colorado's weather is known for its fluctuations, but what do the final stats say for the region? Here’s the current breakdown:

The average temperature for 2024 was 52.7°F, which is 2.3°F above the typical average. While this might not seem like a large variation, it's enough to make 2024 the second warmest year on record for Colorado Springs, just behind the record set in 2012.

On the flip side, Southern Colorado also faces its fair share of snow and ice. Colorado Springs, for example, saw nearly 60 inches of snow this year, earning the city a spot in the top 10 snowiest years since records began in 1894.

In Pueblo, 2024 also turned out to be an unusually warm year. With an average temperature of 55.2°F, the city experienced temperatures that were 2°F higher than usual. This slight increase was enough to rank 2024 as the 5th warmest year on record for Pueblo.

When it comes to snow, this year’s totals weren’t as remarkable. Pueblo recorded 26.6 inches of snow, which is 1.7 inches below the typical amount. However, the city did receive 14.54 inches of precipitation, placing it among the top 25 years for rainfall in its history.
